The last three Disney films that starred POC were the Emperor’s New Groove in 2000, Brother Bear in 2003 and Princess and the Frog in 2009.
What did they have in common?
Pulled a fast one on us 6 year-olds, Disney.

Puncher: Lilo Pelekai
Punchee: Mertle Edmonds
Memorable Lines: "You’re a stinky dancer, and anything you come up with, it’s gonna be stinky! You’ll never be like your mom. Never!"
Why it’s Awesome: Lilo has always been a little weird. She loves Elvis and voodoo and always makes sure the fish gets his peanut-butter sandwich. And she loves dancing. But small children are the cruelest of creatures, especially to anyone who is at all …different. Mertle is the worst offender - rich, spoiled rotten, and the Alpha Bitch of the group, she bullies Lilo mercilessly throughout the film. Making fun of her dancing is one thing. But bringing Lilo’s dead parents into it is low, even for her. The sort of low that can only be solved with a punch in the face.
Also, look at Stitch here. A good friend holds you back from doing something you’ll regret later. But a great friend knows when to capture your Crowning Moment of Face Punch on film for all posterity.
Where to find it?: Lilo & Stitch, (2002)
Jack is hardcore as fuck
scare me like one of your french girls
For money money, the most interesting thing about this confrontation is how completely it inverts the final scenes of a typical Disney film. In most cases, the hero is physically and/or supernaturally outmatched, and triumphs through determination and ingenuity; here, the villain spends the the whole fight running scared, while the protagonist casually no-sells everything that’s thrown at him. And there’s no ironic Disney Death keeping the protagonist’s hands clean, either. Jack just straight-up murders Oogie with malice aforethought while Oogie is running away - and by having Santa Claus himself strike the final blow, the film legitimises Jack’s killing of Oogie as the morally correct course of action.
You don’t fuck around with the motherfucking pumpkin king
Still one of my favorite songs for so many reasons.
"When I see myself, I’ll always know where you are."
